This represents the various talents and blessings given to us by the Lord - that we should share in our everyday life. The gift boxes represent the different wishes we have for our less fortunate brothers and sisters, such as food, clothing and education. With the Llamas Family being in the music and live entertainment industry, interior designers Pamela Tan and Aivan Magno have designed the Christmas Tree to symbolize the vision and image of the family. The chosen charity is the Philippine Progress Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports our less fortunate brothers and sisters, including street children in the Philippines. BOWSTRING BOOKS  |  Reviews  |  Gold Warriors Japan Times, 11 July 2004 Believe it . . . or not By Roland Kelts Japan’s vast hoard of war booty known as Yamashita’s Gold was long thought to be buried in caves in the Philippines. But in their book ‘Gold Warriors,’ Sterling and Peggy Seagrave sensationally claim that the treasure trove was secretly recovered -- and continues to oil the wheels of politics in Japan and beyond. As Roland Kelts discovered through interviews with the authors, it is a tail as disturbing as they insist it is well-founded IN the months preceding the invasion of Iraq in early 2003, Bush administration officials proclaimed that the United States would do for the Middle Eastern nation what it had done for Japan more than 50 years before: “Democratize it.” The gross oversimplification was roundly demolished by critics across the political spectrum. But not so by author Sterling Seagrave who, with wife and co-author Peggy, has published nine books on Asia an

ON OUR CHOICES ON SCIENCE AND FAITH

ON OUR CHOICES ON SCIENCE AND FAITH BY: DEO ANTONIO D. LLAMAS WE ALL HAVE CHOICES TO MAKE IN THIS LIFE. BUT AFTER THIS LIFE GOD WILL HAVE HIS CHOICE WHOM HE WILL ALLOW TO ENTER IN HIS KINGDOM. HE WILL SEPERATE THE SHEEP FROM THE GOAT.WE MUST INVEST IN ETERNAL THINGS NOT IN THE MATERIAL AND TEMPORAL WORLD. FOR  GOD'S  THOUGHT IS HIGHER THAN OUR THOUGHTS, HIS WAYS ARE HIGHER THAN OUR WAYS.  AS HUMANIST WOULD EMBRACE NATURAL SELECTION. GOD  HAS  HIS  WAY  OF  SELECTING  THOSE  WHO HEARS WITH THEIR HEARTS AND OBEYS HIS VOICE. REMEMBER IN PARADISE THE DEVIL TEMPTED MAN BY QUESTIONING AND UNDERMINING GOD'S AUTHORITY AND PURPOSE. SO TO ARE WE TEMPTED UNTIL NOW TO CHOSE THE FRUIT OF TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL INSTEAD OF CHOOSING THE  FRUIT OF THE TREE OF LIFE WHICH IS CHRIST JESUS. THE ROAD TO LIFE IS NARROW ONLY FEW ARE ABLE TO PASS IT. BUT THE  ROAD THAT  LEADS TO DEATH IS WIDE SO ENTER AS YOU PLEASE.THE CONSEQUENCE OF SIN IS DEATH. GOD IS A HOLY GOD HE CAN NOT TOLERATE SIN

Marranos, Conversos, and New Christians Conversos and Marranos The terms “Marrano” and “converso” were applied in  Spain  and  Portugal  to the descendants of baptized Jews suspected of secret adherence to  Judaism . Converso, from the Latin  conversus , meant literally the converted. Various origins for the term “marrano” have been suggested, which include the  Hebrew   marit ayin  ("the appearance of the eye"), referring to the fact that the Marranos were ostensibly Christian but actually Jews;  mohoram attah  ("you are excommunicated"); the Aramaic-Hebrew  Mar Anus  ("forced convert"); the Hebrew mumar ("apostate") with the Spanish ending ano; the Arabic  mura'in  ("hypocrite"); and the second word of the ecclesiastical imprecation  anathema maranatha . All such derivations, however, are unlikely. The most probable is from the Spanish word meaning swine or pig, derived from the Latin  verres  "wild boar." The term p
