SHOWBIZ DOES RUN IN THE LLAMAS FAMILY

Here's another cast of the Movie Aguila the Icon Christopher De Leon. He played the role of one of the sons of FPJ "Daniel Aguila Whose Mom was played by Charo Santos Concio whose maiden screen name was Atty. Monica Salvacion Llamas before Daniel Aguila married her. This event, the launching of my cousin Camera rental business, Hugo D. Villanueva and Caroline Villanueva and his partner Tony Aguirre and wife Maam Leah Navarro Aguirre, made my dream come true in meeting Ceasar Montano a.k.a Capt. Jack Llamas in the movie” Huramentado” and premier actor Christopher De Leon launched at the City of Dreams

I have meet FPJ, been in his Studio and Campaign for him during his Presidential Election. The other left in my bucket list is Eddie Romero the author and director of the movie Aguila. Which this movie inspired me to do research and write my book Something Interesting and Fun About the Llamas Family of the Philippines, But he has died 4 years ago. But I Was able to avail of his Program in FDCP or Film Development Council of the Philippines for free seminars on film making. where I was able to attend Peque Gallaga’s, Lore Reyes and, Malones Film making Seminars, Held at Cinematheque Iloilo. Our Film festival is called Cinekasimanwa WESTERN VISAYAS FILMFEST and is now the biggest Film festival in the Philippines In terms of entry and number of days festival.

Another in my top list that I would love to meet is Charo Santos- Concio of ABS-CBN who played the role of Atty. Monica Salvacion Llamas. And another is Monica Llamas whose real name is Monica Salvacion Llamas hahaha. Monica is an independent actress and TV artist, Ballerina. She is the one playing Karen the Carabao in a children's tv show in early 2000, Manager of Channel 23, and a commercial model endorser.

Like Lady's choice Christmas Holiday, E.Q. and a series of TV commercials for Bonux laundry powder with Ogie Alcasid. Now she has an enterprise a travel agency and " Bleeding Heart Corporation the distillery of the premier Don Papa Rum. Blended in Negros Island the Sugar Capital of the Philippines

I have a cousin Eleanor Llamas Baldovino whose life and career have been with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). She in her own way part of the cultural promotion and preserving our national treasure, culture, and heritage by involving in the several regional cultural shows that they bring to other regions and regularly here Iloilo either Iloilo National High school or Central Philippine University (CPU). And whenever I go to Manila in the ’90s before I get passes to watch theater plays at CCP.

PART II of the Llamas Bldg story: opened two movie houses in Lingayen (in Artacho St. and Alvear St). It was the silent film era, no talkies reached the town yet. So the entire show was accompanied by piano music.

Panaderia Llamas became famous throughout Pangasinan, and also the bazaar (the Persian word for “a big shop selling miscellaneous goods”) of Emiliano’s wife Soledad Macasieb Fernandez, that shared the ground floor of the building. Bae Yeyeng (Soledad) was hands-on manager and she kept a pretty tight grip on the Caja de yero. (super kuripot daw, hehe!) With the whopping windfall, Emiliano ventured into other business enterprises - a hotel in Dagupan and choice real estate properties in the city that generated rental income. He also opened two movie houses in Lingayen (in Artacho St. and Alvear St).

It was the silent film era, no talkies reached the town yet. So the entire show was accompanied by piano music. The pianist had to keep a watchful eye on the chapter by chapter serial film because he had to play the appropriate music tempo for each scene - slow romantic melody for the usual courtship part, and would suddenly rise to a full crescendo as the twosome would engage in a heated argument. And when the bida would be running after the contrabida or vice versa, the pianist’s fingers would also run and jump on the keys just as fast! But then, the movie industry in the country came to a halt with the arrival of the Japanese. Sadly, the Llamas movie houses closed down for good.

On the early morning of January 7, 1942, a month after the bombing of America’s Pearl Harbor, five trucks of Japanese soldiers suddenly appeared at the town center of Lingayen. As they were marching loudly around, they detected a wonderful aroma of fresh-baked bread in the air. It led to Panaderia Llamas. They invited themselves in and Emiliano Llamas served them breakfast - pandesal and pan de vara, with cheese and Rizal’s famous cho-ko-la-te eh. Maybe to return the favor, they appointed their host as mayor of Lingayen on the spot. (see an attached clipped report of Guerilla Forces; none of Emiliano’s kin ever mentioned or knew about this, so he must have turned it down.) The duly-elected mayor then was Atty. Sulpicio Soriano, who was among those apprehended and detained by them.

A few years after the war, Emiliano suffered a fatal heart attack. Among his seven children, Dolores Llamas-Amor and Atty. Jesus Llamas (Mayor of Lingayen in 1946) were the ones who inherited this landmark of Lingayen. It is a marker for the start of a new design and method of construction, the American way. Materials that were added to the traditional wood were reinforced concrete of cement and aggregates, steel, and galvanized iron. No more Spanish -style bricks and adobe stones.

It is now waiting to be restored, conserved and preserved by the present owners - the heirs of Dolores Llamas Amor and Jesus Llamas, not only to keep alive the memories of their forbears but also to give a good example to all that we, the people, should participate in the preservation of our heritage as part of the life of a nation. Imagined silent movie era the Llamas was into entertainment business already and Emiliano Llamas Was a pioneer. remember I read also on the side Villamil Family which is on the maternal side of Papa in Dagupan Pangasinan where pioneer filmmakers as well as musical director in the 70.s in a tv show. I remember FPJ The King and his father FPJ Senior was from San Carlos, Pangasinan FPJ Senior was said to be the model of the oblation statue of U.P. Diliman icon, He, however, succumb to rabies from a dog bite. and Mrs. Devenecia, wife of Cong de Venecia family from Pangasinan was into national film production in the ’60s to ’70s, a family friend of my papa they where childhood friend in Dagupan, Pangasinan and my father was also a friend of Mayor Cuneta of Pasay the father of Sharon Cuneta with whom my brother Paul Llamas had a great crush with the young Sharon Cuneta but he died with a broken heart at 18 last 1982 Paul was true Artist a visual artist, a composer, a singer poet-writer. Funny I Recently meet a 3rd cousin name Paul Llamas too... a good friend of Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon of Iloilo City and he was married to Sharon Cuneta’s Sister but with a different mother, he is a contractor Too.

Jonathan Llamas recently was Recognize in his effort as a nurse in America for his contributions as a nurse during the nurses week celebration during this time of COVID 19 in the U.S. one singing nurse in person. congratulation.

In Latin America, I have encountered several Llamas actors, directors and movie producers as well as Francis Llamas and Jose Angel Llamas and many more.

We also have celebrity sisters one is Claudia Llamas Rankel who is now based in California an actress and a TV commercial model. She recently had a stint in Agent of Shield of Marvel A TV series at Netflix. Her sister Lydia Llamas Rankel- Schmied is the lead singer of the band in Austria they are the daughters of Dr. Leonor Llamas Rankel. Lydia’s daughter Lina Llamas Rankel Schmied is the World Champion 2016 in Ballet Solo and World Dance Champion 2016 in Jazz Solo. Now There is a Llamas band in Manila Lead by Baby Llamas.

The Llamas Family's Christmas Tree is filled with different musical instruments and gift boxes. This represents the various talents and blessings given to us by the Lord - that we should share in our everyday life. The gift boxes represent the different wishes we have for our less fortunate brothers and sisters, such as food, clothing, and education.

With the Llamas Family being in the music and live entertainment industry, interior designers Pamela Tan and Aivan Magno have designed the Christmas Tree to symbolize the vision and image of the family.

The chosen charity is the Philippine Progress Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports our less fortunate brothers and sisters, including street children in the Philippines.

2016 and 2017 I was engaged in making 2 movies by Haris Multi-Media as one of the actors in “Alas Tres the Movie” I WAS THE PRIEST THAT EXORCIST THE DEMON POSSESS LADY. and during the Cinekasimanwa 4 of NCCA and Cinematheque Iloilo Which we garnered The Best in Cinematography for that Film fest Cinekasimanwa 4 and won a grant from DOT to produce another Film which was filmed in Boracay and Aklan, the movie “Higante, mga Misteryo sang Kuweba’. was launched in Cinekasimanwa 5 in SM cinema, Sm City Iloilo. In this movie, I acted as well and was the Production Manager and Line Producer. and both of the films were directed by Ramjun Valasote and Dane Arsulo.
