THOUGHTS AND POEMS By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

Thoughts for the Day
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

1. Learn to love others even those who do not love you.
2. When feeling lonely, feel the presence of the birds and the plants (nature) and feel God’s presence.
3. Be humble and never be a show off. Never be arrogant.
4. Life is but a challenge, a preparation for the next life.
5. If people look down at you, let them. But don’t look down at them. If they disrespect you, let them. But respect them. There’s still God and you and nature who respects you.
6. Love the world, love the people, love yourself, hate all that is evil.
7. Never wish to be a leader but do what is best for the group.
8. Love is one of life’s challenges if your “love” comes to love someone, don’t despise her but be thankful she finds happiness in him. There are still others.
9. Never choose a girl who is sophisticated (socialite) or Idealistic but look for ones with brains and a good heart.
10. If you feel being rejected, don’t. You’re really not rejected. That’s just the way you feel it. There’s God and you and nature who won’t reject you. Always call on God and feel His presence.
11. Respect yourself, have confidence no matter what you look. People will not see you for that you are but who you are. Remember, that your body is just a façade. What counts is your character.
12. Never be to ambitious (ambition causes frustration) but set guidelines to follow and goals to aim for. Accept what you are and where you are now. God has plans for you.  Do what is good and follow the pathway that He has set up for you.
13. Don’t expect, but hope.
14. Live with the world but not for the world.
15. Be a friend to yourself and then befriend others.
16. All the people are equal no matter how high and low the status.
17. Don’t do unto others what you don’t want others to do unto you.

1. Love
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

Love is such
An extraordinary thing
From roses and kisses
To wedding  rings.

Love can change our ways
From words and rhymes
To music we sing.

Love is colour
Love is light
Love is heaven
Love is might.

Me, I don’t know how
Love can always be
A thing of joy and forever free

Let there be love
Throughout the world
Let there be love
In every heart
Let there be love
To warm up the cold
Throw all your hates
And take all it takes
And love forever
Will lighten your fates.

2.
To My Best Friend
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

I got lost in the woods
                Of darkness and fear
You searched for me, found me
And led me to the sunshine
I got caught in a storm of
Hatred, by the sea of sorrows
You were there when I called you
Sheltered me and took me from It all
I got blinded by greed
                Selfishness and evil thoughts
You came to my rescue
And saved me from the fall
I was haunted by the ghost
                Of deadly anxiety
You protected me. Kept me
                And guided me to safety
I had dreams to reach
                You assured me with hope
I’ve been a coward to reality
You gave me strength and courage
I was alone, orphan
                You became my Guardian
I’ve been a friendless friend
                You befriended me…
FOR ALL THIS THINGS,
                Thanks God!

3. I Smile
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

A comedians humor
My friend’s corny joke.

Disney’s land of fantasy
A dreamer’s inspiration

Rustling trees and mountains
Sea gull soaring high.

Sixteen’s pretty faces
Christmas carols and Valentines.

Childhood memories
Mama’s loving kiss
God’s promise of hope.

My baby smiles…
I smile!

4. Reaching
By : Paul Leo D. Llamas

I stretch my arms
Yearning for the sun
In golden rays beyond the horizon
Glistening atop whispering trees
That stares amidst the rubble..

A chill would make me gasp
And I would still in silence
Calm…
Desperate …

I reach no more…

5. Dreaming
By : Paul Leo D. Llamas

I was surprised to see her
Waiting next to me
Just the two of us together
That very moment at the park
As we watch the setting sun
Descending down the sea
What enchantment, what ecstasy
The cold breeze passed by
And I heard her say,
Paul, its so cold.. I’m freezing
Here in my longing arms
I kept her
Whispering words that tickle
Her heart
She smiled, our eyes met
I kissed her cherry lips
Tasted sweetness that sugar
And honey would envy
She held on tight,
For all of a sudden she’s gone
Lost in an unreachable dream
-forever,
Leaving here all by myself
Holding on to my dear PILLOW.

6. Days In June
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

Sheen…
Lost without trace
Dark and heavy clouds
Taking its place…

Breeze…
Creeping on my hair
Dashing raging wind
Never to cease…

Sounds…
Raindrops meet the mud
Dozy uncared kittens
Shivering by the bush…

Me..
Watching by walls
For the skies to clear
As memories would recall…

7. Childsplay
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

We see…
                Children in the streets,
Racing for gasp in breath and space,
                                                Hidden from sight,
                Only to reveal
                                Behind shrubs and hails
                                                And bushed tree houses
                In  daytime matches…

Now see…
                Youngsters in the sand
Resting for gasp in breath and peace,
                                                Shrouded from sight
                Only to expose themselves
                                Behind shrubs and wails
                                                And dark-roomed motels
                In evening matches?

Tsk…tsk…tsk…
LOVE they say…
                Is but CHILDSPLAY.

8.How Can I Write A Poem?
By :Paul Leo D. Llamas

How Can I Write A Poem?
I don't kNOW HOW.
Yet, why do I want to?
There's no answer right now.

How Can I Write A Poem?
Does it's ending have to rhyme?
Do I have to use hard words?
Guess I'm waisting my time.

How Can I Write A Poem?
I haven't learned that in High School,
and there's no book about it.
My God, I think I am just a fool!

How Can I Write A Poem?
Could you please tell me how?
If you don't I'll lose my mind !
And this just the end of it now.

9. WORDS OF THE  HEART
By: Paul Leo D. Lla

Crush...
           eyes meeting
           pounding hearts
           crazy feelings
           speechless

Longing...
           cold lonely nights
           splashing waves
           warm embraces
           blazing fire

Love...
           three red roses
           valentine cards
           sweet smiles
           tender kisses

Broken love...
           dying dreams
           tearful eyes
           withered roses
           lost memories

10. Believing
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

I believe in creation
          and we are God's children
I believe in life
          and not in death
In unity for goodness' sake
          and freedom for all man
I believe in love
          and despise hate

In peace, hope, and faith

I  believe in justice
           but not politics
In success and learning
           from mistakes
I believe in the sea,sunshine,
nature and songs that I sing

I believe in dreams come true

I believe in no religion
            but I know there's a GOD
who will guide me, help me to say...

" I believe in myself "

11. Love like the Waters
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

Love like the waters
flow fast and swift
like the silence of the deep
that keeps our hearts adrift

Love like the moonlight
with it's beutiful glow
that lightens the night
as it continues to grow

Love like the rainbows
gives color and harmony,
gives joy and beauty
to every lover's heart

Love like a rose
that blooms thru the air
gives joy with it's fragrance
with moments we share

Love is everything good,
love is understood
for love  forever will remain
for love is like the waters.

12. Vain Smudge
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

What now foolish child
from a tattered cocoon
whence you besought
by time deminished...

Only to trod a deadly
existence that reveal
no truth but rather
a vague sanity
of clashes to musty blues?

We live entangled
to a rusty landscape
and shattered rainbows
that smite a mystic myth

We are but smudge
in empty spaces,
born to be heroes.
to defend...
To devour....
to struggle...
TO  P E R I S H

13. Seclusion
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

We hide
In an empty hole
Drawn from a mess
That shoved away
A days illusion…

We stared
To a dangling hall
Drifted to a reverie
That shed a moments pause
In skepticism…

 We cause
A blissful sail
To create a ruthless hell
Then banish to an escapade
To soothe a grim frustration…

We search
A solemn space
To cease an endless race
And live another tale
In seclusion.

14. Desperation
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

Feeling down
Feeling out
As a tree unfit to grow
And a wingless bird at flight.

Is there anyone who’ll listen
To a simple guy like me?
Don’t I have the right
To say what’s on my mind?

Feeling afraid
Who’s to blame
Losing you is such hurting game

Now I’m alone
Perhaps forever
Or maybe not for long…

Feeling down
Feeling out
I’ve lost, defeated
But not that I’ve failed,
Only that I’ve had it
With LOVE.

15. SHARON
( A POEM FOR  SHARON CUNETA )
 By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

She is the light
that brightens my life,
the twinkling of the stars
and the glow of the moonlight

She is the beauty
of a goddess in heaven
the wonders of the sea
and the garden of Eden.

She is the voice
of an angel that sings  in the sky
that can make every heart fly
so high above the sky.

She is the goodness
of a heart as white as snow
that can soften a wall of stone
and bring joy to every home.

She is the reason
why I am glad
the reason
why I am sad
and the reason
why I must live
or the reason why I must die.

16. Plea to Zrr
(to Cynthia)
By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

Despair casts a dim
To a dying shimmering hope.
Emotions barred by desperate thoughts
In stern words meant
For only to understand,
But how could you?
You did not care at all…

The angel and the dreamer
Two roles we did portray.
In a world of adult confusion
And childish realities
Where sincerity and devotion
No longer has it’s place,
You were the sheen
That lay beneath the mist
And me, the silent waiting fool.

There were voices you couldn’t hear,
Songs played with no one to listen.
All but pleadings to a downhearted soul
Causes by reasons of unseen circumstances.
And foul plays in a silly game
For which there was no rule.

He stands the stranger
Searching a way to get pass through
A barrier of selfish pride
That stood between us.
Or was it mere senseless idealism
That made you fail to distinguish
Between a paper and a wall?

The sun would rise
At break of dawn
And rest at the edge of dusk.
The sea may smash the countless sand
And someday cease to rush.
No absolute certainty is there to exist
For truth changes
With endless flow of time.
Only doubts remain to stay
In feelings freed unrelinquished
And no words left to say,
Till we meet again…

. Bee Jay
By: (Blue Boy)  Paul Leo D. Llamas

He’s a guy…
Tall, good looks , a hippy’s hair
He’s got courage and guts
But he doesn’t care…

He’s a student…
Funny, joker, troublemaker
He’s got brains to get ninety
But he doesn’t care

He’s a teacher…
Tells you what is right
Yet doesn’t do what he preaches
And he’s not aware…

He’s a man…
Tough, fights for his rights
He’s got ideas and principles
Which he doesn’t share…

I don’t mind…
Who or what he is
Some may like him, some may not
But he’s got everything he’s got
He’s a friend

18. Lee’s Golden Ripples
(for John Lee) By: Paul Leo D. Llamas

TONG
That half Chink guy
With the unshaved smile,
Turns open the window pane
Allowing the cool evening breeze
To gush in.
With glass in hand
He reaches out for the bottle
And fills it with raging spirit
Oozing from its mouth.
In one corner stands
The fresh virgin waters
To cleanse the blazing savor
Of the hell roaring liquid
Rushing down his throat.
He yields and shrieks
For a while he pauses…
Then out of his moistened lips
Rough stories and lousy lies
Could be heard.
Silence breaks once again…
He fills the empty glass once more
With that splash of hurricane
I shivered and yackied its presence…
It’s your turn, he’d say
I – I –I I’ve had enough, I’d reply
With grimace on my face.
Then once again that unshaved face
Now steamed with a devilish grin,
Would break the short-lived silence
As I feel myself ending in a comma
Only to loose that grinning face
Slowly steadily
I find myself floating
In nothingness…
