MY CREATIVE SIDE

MY CREATIVE SIDE

By. Deo Antonio D. Llamas
I usually excel in things that interest me. Where my passion lies where I can self express my Creative side.
As an Actor
I have one Indie film which I played the role of a priest which I exorcist a demon possessed lady the name of the movie is Alas Tres. Neil Rappiz played as the sakristan and Ramjun Velasote was the director and was produced by Harris Media with Dane Arsulo..
In our church at Alta Tierra Village I played the role of the modern day Prodigal son during our Christmas presentation, I can relate well with the story. I served as a regular choir member and a sakristan or Altar boy before and we also had a fundraising play for the church where I played the role of Gringo Honasan on a comedy play " Patayin si Kris Aquino.
In Agape Campus for Jesus Ministry. We have played an Evangelization play at different schools. I played as one of the Demon as my role. In full gospel Church I also joined a play during a Christmas Cantata. This was my way of honoring God by offering my talents to Him.
As a Singer
Many of my highschool classmate does not know I sing. They did not know I was an active choir singer in our Church. There was this PRISAA choral contest where I joined representing our School University of Iloilo College of Nursing. I was the male soloist then. When I started to sing a former high school classmate of mine from University of San Agustin recognize me and  reacted "Deo sings, He never sings". A classmate of mine in the College of Nursing over heard her comment for she was just in the next row and she replied "Ngaa na isa ka haw ( Why ?Are you Jealous) And my high school classmate just keep still. My Nursing classmate narrated that incident after the event. We won that that contest bested the other schools from iloilo as the Choral Champion. Another Choral Championship award our Dept of Nursing Choir got was University Choral champion during our University Day. I was the male soloist as well.
I also hold the title of PAREB IDOL. It was a nation wide Singing Contest sponsored by Phil. Association of Realtors Board During our National convention in Manila. I bested 10 other singers from different regions of the country ha ha ha. That's why I still hold the title for it was the only talent contest PAREB ever sponsored. They tag me as the Singing Realtor.
Another National Convention by Fil-Estate Development Corporation in Baguio held a national talent search as well. Tony Collado and Madam Delia Collado my bosses vouched for me to represent Iloilo which I did. I won 1st runner up while the guy from Manila won 1st place. It was the 2 of us left after the elimination round and we randomly pick a song to sing. I got the song "' Delilah" and it turn out to be my fall and ruin ha ha ha there was a technical glitch that I failed to hit the last line of the song ha ha ha.
As a kid I love to sing. Even join a singing contest in acapela during my elementary years. But I guess being a choir of the Sweet Voice of Salvation Choir of Alta Tierra Parish Church started it all. I did have interest in composing songs during my elementary years and writing rhythmical poems my brother Paul as well inspired me to take interest in Music and My Father bought me a karaoke Multiplex stereo which he encourage me to sing my heart out. I would do a solo concert and marathon sing along at home ha ha ha to my neighbors distress. Tita Belle my Aunt also gave me two walkman which I find it very useful then in recording my songs and thoughts. We would do a Drama skit with it ha ha ha.
As a Visual Artist
In My life my brother Paul greatly influenced my life in many ways. He was an artist, a poet,a writer, a singer, composer, a great guitar player, he was not religious but he was spiritual guy, a dreamer.
But his life was cut short at the age of 18, I was 12 when that happened. He left a log book of his poems and composed songs and his thoughts, dreams and things he aspires. Somehow this logbooks have been spared from several floods and I gladly take them to heart adopted them as my own. Glad to have preserve them.He was a bible believer and of Gods love.
My Mother was the one who taught me first how to draw she taught me how to draw a swan and a teddy bear that then started my interest in drawing but it was my brother Paul who taught me the techniques in drawing and I greatly enjoy his comic strips drawing. He made Super Hero Characters and they have their profiles and statistics and bio information. We used to collect Marvel and DC comics.
I never have a major award in drawing contest. Even I usually am requested together with my 4 classmate to represent the school in drawing contest that includes Architect Ramy Maniva, Visual artist Leo Anas, the brothers Daryl and John Novera both are engineers my classmate in West Visayas State University. But most of them pursued an engineering courses and me a bachelor of science in Nursing. In high school I studied in San Agustin where somehow there was no avenue for me to develop my love for visual arts.
Except when there was a contest a highschool wide for the cleanest room and the best bulletin board were our classroom won for 2 years back to back. I was the one who lead to ensure we have the cleanest room and best bulletin board being a class officer. We where glad to have that recognition it was a simple recognition but it was something for us. Team work, a little extra industry and creativity did the thing.
In my room I painted a Mural and at the back of my house. Now my wall was demolished and my 30 years mural at the back of our house was repainted white. My masterpieces vanished ha ha ha. But I am inspired by biblical themes and Historical subjects and Sculptured bodies of men and women. I love to draw superheroes. I was a member of LAPIS a sketching group here in Iloilo.

Lately I was able to try Digital art and find it a challenge and was able to join a group exhibit at Cinematheque Iloilo Gallery with my poems I submitted six of my art pieces. It was my first time to join an Art exhibit with fellow ilonggo artist.
But seeing my son Deo Michael and John Peter and my daughter Divine Grace having a Knock in Visual arts is a great consolacion. Proud to say Deo Michael have several win in a major art painting and poster making contest. He was even made recently as judge by NYC (National Youth Council ) Sponsored Art painting contest. While John is now doing video editing. He knows how to make a cartoon Video which he posted in his vine.

As for Gracie her drawing has greatly matured and with the right motivation and support she will make a name for herself in the art world. She does Video editing and several times Facebook censors her editing and question her work for she is too young to do this professionally at her age of 12. John has mentored her early in this digital art age and she's learning well. Ha ha ha she is one techie kid.

I have notebook full of my Love poems for my ex Girlfriend and my Lifetime partner my wife and the mother of my children which I have save 28 years ago. I have revived them resurrected them from oblivion and posted them in my blog as well. That started my new interests in poetry thou I was writing poems since my elementary years but I have no copies of them any more. I became an avid contributors to different Poetry Group in FB and has spark my Creative juices once again.
