FOREWORD:
This is a compilation of historical books, news articles, blogs, websites, comments, profiles from Facebook, Google search, Wikepidea , Yahoo.com, Amazon.com, and many more about the Llamas Family of the Philippines. With the advent of internet age information are made available by the click of a finger which I am forever grateful.
It has been a dream of mine to make a book or documentary about the Llamas Family. For as the great book states “a good name is better than gold.“ A good reputation is better than wealth a far more lasting legacy one can leave for ones family and love ones.
Just as the patriarch Abraham have done by doing what was right in the eyes of God and his obedience has bless his family and all the generations to come has contributed to society and this world of ours. Building their nation as people belonging to God. From glory to glory their stories have been told and retold again and again serving to show that righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach.
In the Philippines it said that 5OO Families or so controlled the economy and political landscape of The Philippines. This was the pitch during the Martial Law time of which the oligarchs as the term they where called. But looking at in the good side this families where creators of wealth and industries that created opportunities for improving the lives of the people they employed, products and services that made our life better as people and as nation. Leaders and visionaries.
Such where the Lopez, Ledesma, Locsin, Villanueva, Javellana and Jalandoni, Divinigracia, Palmares, Cacho, Concepcion, Chan, Florete, Hernandez, Montinola, Sarabia, Tiu, Po, Ang, Uygongco, Chusuey Family of Iloilo, The Sia, Ong, Ortiz, Lim, Yap, Belo, Bermejo, Delfin, Del rosario, Ford, Villareal, Roxas family of Capiz, The Aquino-Cojuangco family of Tarlac, The Yanson, the Lacson, Elizalde and Araneta family of Negros, The Garcia, Lhuillier, Aboitiz, The Sy, Ty, Tan, Gaisano, Gokongwei, Gothong and Osmena family of Cebu. The Marcos, Singsons family of Ilocos, the Ramos, Devenecia, Fernandez, Coquia, Llamas Clan of Pangasinan, The Romualdez of Leyte, the Ayala's of Makati And now the Chinese –Filipino of Binondo, and the proud of the south the Alvarez, Rivera's, Zubiri's, Consunji, Brown Family have contributed to the prosperity and progress of our country. Their Corporate social responsibilities have reach and help the less fortunate and in need.
And to mention the new heroes of the generation the OFW Family. Choice of occupation usually runs in the family. Such as families of Sailors, family of Nurses, family of engineers, family of accountants, family of doctors, family of musicians and entertainers and many more have helped our country by their dollar remittances that sustains our economy afloat and improve the quality of life and education to their families left at home. Most of the time our purpose and destiny are linked with our family. Building a family that is responsible and involve in a supportive and responsive member of the community is the true wealth of any nation.
My father has instilled in me the sense of pride to our Llamas family. And humbly I can share the Llamas family is a family of heroes. As I have come to realize after researching this documents about the Llamas family of the Philippines I have concluded that their deep sense of Nationalism is linked to their devotion and spirituality. A religious genetic predisposition as I may say an awareness of greater purpose and purpose for their being, relevant in what ever field they are engage in or circumstances . This family will lead and serve with passion and excellence. So with this book may their memories live on and will always be remembered.
I remember a book used by my brother in his Spanish class, the book was titled “Llamas de Nationalismo” or The call for Nationalism where the works of our National hero Dr. Jose Rizal which was in Spanish where discuss and dissected. That call to love our country and patriotism has been heeded and was tested several time in our country’s history. Having a deep interest in history I am surprise to see numerous acts of heroism by members of the Llamas family in their localities but never given a national recognition for their sacrifices and achievements.
Collectively it spans from all region of the Philippines from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. And so I humbly made this research to unite the family and create a Llamas Family Clan. We now have the Llamas Clan FB Group as a start. And we will have our First Llamas Clan Grand Reunion in Cebu City.
I believe in this family and in the special way it responds to the call of destiny and being the voice of change and answer the challenge to serve and lead. Seeing the past and the present Llamas’es I see a greater future and brighter hope for this family. Having this book will give pride and sense of identity to the next generation of Llamas. Knowing your families roots is like a tree in a brook.
For the Llamas women who possessing grace and beauty like all the beauty queens in the family be a woman of substance worthy of honor and respect. For the brave man of the Llamas clan we emulate our revolutionary forefathers who led and fought for what is right. Elevating the mind and heart. For God, Family and Country.
