Acting as prince consort to a Miss Philippines!’ Then, suddenly suspicious, she demanded, ‘Did she ask for you?’”2 (On the far left is Eugenio Lopez, Sr.)   Carlos P. Romulo escorted Virginia Llamas in the pageant. After two and a half years of courtship, they married on July 1, 1924, in Pagsanjan, and honeymooned in Baguio. They had four sons: Carlos, Jr., (“Mike”) in 1925; Gregorio Vicente (“Greg”) in 1927; Ricardo Jose (“Dick”) in 1933; and Roberto Rey(“Bobby”) in 1938. ( See pictures below) Gen. Carlos P. Romulo, most likely the most well-known Filipino abroad since he was the first President of the United Nations General Assembly. It is his statue that presently sits at the corner of U.N. Aven

HISTORY OF DAGUPAN, PANGASINAN My Lola Maria Villamil Jovellanos on my fathers side belongs to the Jovellanos -Villamil Clan of Dagupan and my grand fathers side Mayor Jose Fernandez Llamas belongs to the Fernandez-Coquia- Llamas (FERCOLLA) clan of Dagupan. We thank Mr. Basa for this very informative and colorful history of Dagupan City. And to MRS. RUFINA MENESES at the City Library. RESTITUTO C. BASA was born October 13, 1930 in Sta. Barbara into Anacleto Salazar Basa of Tebeng, Dagupan and Ticman Carreon of Sta. Barbara. A graduate of the University of Pangasinan.. A Veteran newspaper, he also taught English, Philippine Literature, History, Sociology and Journalism at the University of Pangasinan and the Dagupan City High School. He passed the following civil service examinations

Ronald Llamas Ronald Llamas, current Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs Ronald Llamas  is a prominent Filipino activist and the current political adviser of President  Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III . He is also the president of the  Akbayan Citizen's Action Party , which is a coalition partner of the  Liberal Party  (LP). Prior to his appointment in his current position, he was already a key adviser of President Aquino and LP president and former senator  Mar Roxas . Aquino also earlier appointed Llamas as member of the board of directors of the  Development Bank of the Philippines .
